1. It’s the hottest on the market – and you can tell
First, we made the HeatPod 2 hotter, and with temperature settings up to 185°F (85°C) it’s now the hottest sauna blanket on the market as far as we know.
We did this as the biggest complaint amongst users across all price points is that their blanket doesn’t get hot enough for them, especially as they get used to frequent sauna sessions and their body adapts to the heat stress.
This may especially affect men, who tend to be physically larger with a higher skin surface area that allows for more efficient heat exchange, which may cause them to get used to higher temperatures more easily. But we’ve also seen and heard feedback from many female users – both of the HeatPod 1 and of our top competitors – that they want their blankets to get hotter. We also added new heat retention features which we’ve not seen in any other blanket – including elegant magnet closures at the top of the blanket and a double-sided zipper to make it easier for you to close the blanket all the way up, preventing heat leakage.
What we kept: We retained the fully Faraday-shielded zero-EMF heating coils that won us the title of “Best Zero-EMF Sauna Blanket” in so many roundups and reviews.
2. We dealt with the industry’s biggest eyesore
The biggest eyesore on sauna blankets across the market is the remote control. That’s because every brand we know of, including the most premium options, uses very old-style OEM remote controls that come standard from very similar factory suppliers. That’s why you’ll rarely see remote controls featured prominently in product shots.

We replaced the remote on the HeatPod 2 with a sleeker model with a simplified UI, and added new features like a Remember Last Mode option. This makes it effortless for you to maintain – or gradually increase – the length and intensity of your sauna sessions over time. At the request of several customers, we also programmed in an alert at the end to let you know when your session is done, so you don’t have to worry if you fall asleep.
What we kept: We retained the HeatPod 1’s plush, butter-soft vegan leather, which a surprising number of reviewers – including editors at Marie Claire, Vice, Rolling Stone, Women’s Health and dozens of other users – have gone out of their way to compliment. It’s been SGS-tested as free from over 240 substances of concern, and uses a water-based production process (better for you than solvent-based vegan leathers).
We also stuck to far-infrared heating coils with a range of up to 14,000 nanometers – as the longer wavelength allows for deeper penetration into your tissues than near-infrared options.
Finally, we also kept the same precision temperature control from the HeatPod 1, so you can customize your sessions to just the right temperature for you, to within 2°F (1°C). (Other premium sauna blankets can have as few as just 9 different settings - see the table below for comparison)
3. It’s comfier – with a fix for a surprisingly common issue
You’ll be laying in your blanket for up to an hour at a time, and we want you to be comfortable throughout. So we added an additional 4” (10cm) of legroom, and made a pillow and footrest in the same wipe-clean vegan leather as the HeatPod, so you don’t need to sweat into your own pillows.
You might not think you need a footrest, and neither did we at first. But our product team’s user surveys and interviews revealed that the most common niggling pebble-in-your-shoe problem people faced while using their sauna blankets was that the weight of the blanket would press down on the tops of their feet and crush their toes, much like a weighted blanket would.

So we created a footrest that can be placed in an upright ‘D’ position at the base of the blanket, to help take the weight off your toes. The footrest can also be popped under the ankles or knees to elevate the feet or place the spine in a comfortable neutral position.
What we kept: The use of a zipper instead of velcro flaps, and the lack of extra crystals, stones, charcoal/clay layers, etc makes HeatPod 2 a little less bulky than other options – even those with similar measurements.
4. Better peace of mind
When you invest in a higher-ticket item, you want to vet your purchase carefully.
Most premium sauna blanket brands offer a 30-day return period – but consumers should be aware of the fine print.
Our major competitors all either make the customer pay for return shipping, which can be hefty given that sauna blankets are relatively large and substantial; or they do not accept returns unless the blanket is in an unused or pristine condition – which can make it tricky for you to really test it out, since that inevitably involves sweating into it!

In addition, HeatPod 2 comes with an automatically registered 1.5-year warranty, and we commit to prompt, good-faith after sales service even after the warranty period ends.

We currently respond to customer emails within just 3.4 hours on average – down from 7.03 hours a year ago. And our average time to full resolution (i.e. the issue is fully resolved to your satisfaction) is just 30.2 hours – down from 38.3 hours a year ago.
